Programme Notes

One of the best and most enjoyable activities of the Christmas season is to gather together to sing carols. Fittingly, then, this short Christmas carol encourages everyone, indeed every living thing, to sing the joys of the season to every corner. The modal melody, irregular metres and unexpected harmonies all give a fresh modern dancing feel to the traditional choir and brass setting.

Sing to the Ends of the Earth won the 1988 Scarborough Amadeus Choir Christmas Carol Competition and was premiered by the choir, conducted by Lydia Adams, at Holy Trinity Armenian Church in Scarborough, Ontario, December 18, 1988.
